Capto is Getting Ready for macOS Mojave 10.14

Apple has just released the tenth macOS Mojave 10.14. From system-wide Dark Mode, Finder advancements, changed App Store to firmer security, Macs are about to be befitted with a lot more advanced features.

We expect to have full Mojave compatibility very soon, and the Capto team is working hard at the moment to make it possible.

Meanwhile, you can keep reading on to find the solution for any of the following concerns:

1. Unable to record audio or video or Capto is crashing:

If you come across any issues while recording using the Camera and the Microphone, please ensure that you’ve given permission as per the new OS requirements (please refer to the screenshot):

For those occasions, the blogging outfit released a desktop app for Mac that does two things and two things only. First, as we've already mentioned, it only shows you Tumblr content and nothing else. On the heels of the release of Apple’s new Mac OS, OS X Yosemite, blogging platform Tumblr has just rolled out its first official desktop application with the launch of a Tumblr app for the Mac. Tumblr has launched a new app for Mac OS X Yosemite (see previously) that allows users to easily share content from almost anywhere on their system. The app also works as a Tumblr-only web browser. · Quit the app

· Re-launch Capto.

If you use the Capto Helper for screen recording and screen capturing, then you might not get the message asking permission to access Microphone or Camera. In that case you’ve to select FaceTime recording. Only then you’ll get the permission dialog. You can give the necessary permissions and then quit and relaunch Capto.

So, please make sure that Capto is launched (not only the Capto Helper) and you have given all necessary permissions as mentioned above.

2. Window Captureis not working with the shortcut key:

Shift + Command⌘+5 Option has been changed on Mojave. The latest OS has clubbed all the options to capture screenshots into one command. If you’ve bought Capto from our website, from the preferences, go to the Hot Keys, and you can check in “Override System Defaults” by following the steps mentioned in the screenshot.

· After you click the “Open System Preferences” button, you’ve to allow Capto to access “System Preferences”.

· · But if you don’t allow Capto from this dialog box, then you can go to the System Preferences –> Security & Privacy –> Accessibility –> click the lock to make changes inside “system preferences”.

· Finally, you’ve to select CaptoHelper from the list to allow it to override system defaults.

If you’ve bought Capto from the Mac App Store, you can change the Hot Key and set a new one for the same.

3. Unable to open browsers inside Capto:

The latest OS, macOS Mojave introduces a new security feature that requires user approval before loading any browser inside the third-party apps. So, you have to give permission to the respective browsers that you want to open inside Capto (please refer to the screenshots):

System Preferences –> Security & Privacy –> Privacy –> Automation –> Select the browser options under Capto (screenshot)

4. Unable to create Library:

The new OS seeks permission to access your photos if you want to create Library within any third-party applications. You’ve to allow Capto to access your photos when a dialog box like the following screenshot comes.
